I just came across two articles that really impressed on me how the world is changing with regards to work.
The first one, published in the Economist “Coming to an office near you” highlights how technology is impacting on jobs that used to be taken for granted. And broadly paints a picture of some of the hardships to come and also some of the opportunities.
In Australia, the AFR published “Accounting grads struggle to find work, but CPA says that doesn’t add up”. Essentially accounting grad jobs have gone from 15000 per month in mid-2008 to 5000 per month now. (It’s bizarre that the professional bodies deny the changes?)
All this leads to the inevitable… the world of work is changing and to survive we had better change too.
