Are You Working With An A-Team?

In this video series, we’re sharing our top tips for successful outsourcing. In the above video, I cover the number one tip for your outsourcing strategy:

Work with the best of the best

It sounds simple, right? But so many business owners forget this key step. One of the major advantages of outsourcing is the ability to work with top talent for the same (or lower) salary you’d pay someone with much less experience at home.

So what makes someone an A-player?

Education

These are the people who graduated from the top universities in their home country. They may have studied abroad, and they graduated top of their class. In a nutshell: they’re very, very smart.

Proactive Thinking

We’ve all dealt with employees who need to be continually micromanaged. It’s frustrating, exhausting, and decreases productivity for everyone.

That’s why it’s so important to choose team members who know how to think and act proactively. This means that they take initiative, and you can trust them to get the job done - without continual oversight.

Cultural Awareness

As the world becomes smaller, and businesses work with teams around the world, cultural awareness is becoming even more important. Small cultural misunderstandings can lead to big problems if they’re not addressed early.

Whenever possible, look for team members who understand your culture. Bonus points if they’ve done some travel globally. This doesn’t mean that they can’t bring their own background, experience, and culture to the table. But it’s beneficial for all involved when teams can understand each other.

Will you pay more for members of an A-team? Probably. But this type of talent is still highly affordable for most businesses. The increased costs are worth it for experienced, highly educated, proactive, culturally aware team members. When you compare pricing differentials for top talent across the globe, offshored A-players are excellent value for money.
